IT Director

The Hay Institute is looking for an experienced and dynamic IT Director. S/he will assume the leadership on overall organizational matters related to IT and Technology.


Responsibilities

- Attract, retain, motivate, lead and develop a high-performance team to execute IT operations; hold the team accountable for high quality service delivery to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in short and long range planning and the execution of strategic initiatives to reach the organization’s business objectives.
- Manage, develop a strategy, and maintain IT infrastructure.
- Oversee technology projects in alignment with organization goals.
- Oversee company-wide network security. Protect the company and its guests from any external cyber threats.
- Coordinate with Chief Compliance Officer to ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part II regulations.
- Anticipate future network needs, identify proactive solutions to satisfy needs.
- Oversee company-wide system backup processes.
- Oversees all IT-related purchasing and budget usage.
- Daily management of IT staff.
- Stay abreast of market and IT sector conditions; advise senior management team of potential opportunities and threats. Serve as an advocate to support a process of risk management for the company, so that growth and investing occur in a disciplined/responsible manner.
- Coordinate with 3rd party service providers, consultants, and contractors.


Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, IS or Mathematics; advanced degree in IT or IS strongly preferred.
- Stylistically, the IT Manager should be a “doer” who is also comfortable and effective at managing and delegating.
- Must be a strong project manager with a clear formulation of objectives, efficient management of a project plan, be able to hold team members accountable and motivate a team to perform, be able to communicate where projects stand, and appreciate the cost and benefits of finishing a project on time and within budget.
- Ability to apply reason, logic, and advanced problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues and to collect, organize and interpret data, formulate models, draw conclusions and make sound recommendations.
- Strong affinity for data to support objective decision making. Ability to perform and interpret detailed financial analysis.
- Demonstrated and deep knowledge and skill for computer systems, and ability to create and
develop advanced presentation materials (e.g., using Powerpoint), and analyzing data (e.g., highly advanced user of Excel).
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, mission-driven, fast-paced, and growing environment.
- Track record of successfully driving complex projects to completion.
- Track record as a strategic business partner at the highest levels of an organization. Strong communication skills and ability to manage people as well as work effectively with other business partners. Must be open, transparent and collaborative.
- Experience managing Microsoft SQL Servers, Active Directory, and virtualization of Microsoft servers.
-Train other members of the organizational on IT issues as possible that they can solve daily issues on their own if possible. Creating manual on common issues for the organization as a to-go resource.
