Proposal Director

The Hay Institute seeks a skilled and passionate Proposal Director to help us support our mission and expand our services. The Director will plan and execute an annual fundraising plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors, President, and Vice President Of Development. Specific responsibilities include:

- Set fundraising goals and determine overall strategy
- Implement procedures to raise funds to meet budgetary needs, including grant-writing, social media campaigns, and special fundraising events.
- Manage donor database to oversee all development functions (donor and prospect information, recognition, development strategies, reports, etc.)
- Steward donors with consistency and creativity to boost retention of first-time donors, maintain donor renewals and recover relapsed donors.
- Collaborate with and assist Board members, President, and VP of Development in their own fundraising activities to maximize their participation in the plan.
- Identify and conduct public speaking engagements to introduce Hay Institute to a wider audience of potential supporters.
- Collaborate with VP of Development to raise awareness of Hay Institute and its work using social media and community outreach.
- Attend quarterly Board meetings when requested.

Job Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 3 years experience in donor development.
- Demonstrated strong organization skills are essential. Must be self-motivated and proactive, able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively in oral and written presentations across multiple media.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- Experience with donor management software required and Neon CRM experience preferred.

Time Requirements:

Flexible schedule, average 10-15 hours per week. Work remotely with availability for in-person staff and donor/prospect meetings as necessary.
